The Paducah Citizens Advisory Board (CAB) was formed in 1996 as a Site Specific Advisory Board (SSAB).

SSAB’s are sub-elements of the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management Advisory Board., which is chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The SSAB’s are stakeholder boards that provide advice and recommendations to the Department of Energy regarding environmental management programs at each respective site. The CAB meets monthly to hear from individuals working on relevant environmental efforts, listen to and discuss input from concerned citizens, form advice and recommendations to submit to the Department of Energy.
