In conjunction with the Milton-Madison bridge improvement project, two planning studies were conducted by EHI Consultants and Wilbur-Smith Associates to develop viable pedestrian and bicycle connections in lower Milton, Kentucky. Opportunities existed for the City of Milton to establish connectivity between the existing city park, the new Milton-Madison Bridge, and the City of Madison through a series of sidewalk and infrastructure improvements outlined in a pedestrian and bicycle facilities plan.
EHI provided concepts for the Riverfront Park areas, including the riverwalk and scenic overlook. This work included planning layouts, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, location(s) of overlooks, cost estimates, landscaping concepts, and compatibility with the visuals of Madison, Indiana’s Riverfront Park area. EHI also assisted in community involvement through a public visioning session in Milton City Park to present information on existing conditions, issues, and preliminary alternatives.
